(Decluttering tasks that take under 10 minutes for when you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start)

A cluttered vintage room filled with hats, bags, and chairs, representing the overwhelming feeling of mess before a fresh start.

Sometimes my brain feels as cluttered as my space — and when I’m in survival mode, even the idea of “getting organized” feels impossible.

But what helps me is starting small. Really small. Like 10-minutes-or-less small.

Here are 10 things I do when I want to feel a little more in control — without spiraling into a 5-hour cleaning binge:

✅ 10 Decluttering Tasks You Can Do Right Now:

  1. Empty your purse, bag, or car console

  2. Clean out your “junk drawer” (just one)

  3. Toss expired food or leftovers in the fridge

  4. Recycle old mail or papers off your counter

  5. Delete 20+ screenshots or spam emails

  6. Wipe down your bathroom counter + mirror

  7. Re-fold a messy drawer (socks, t-shirts, leggings)

  8. Make your bed + clear off the nightstand

  9. Throw out the random clutter on your coffee table

  10. Set a 10-minute timer and just put sh*t away

This isn’t about being perfect — it’s about moving. One small action at a time. Because when your space starts to feel lighter, your mind does too.
