I Needed a Safe Space, So I Made One

Have you ever felt like you had no one?
You know there are people around you who love you — but do they actually meet your emotional needs?
If your answer is no, you're in the right space.
This is exactly why I started Untangling Her.
Over the past year, I’ve been going through the most difficult time of my life. And somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, I had a painful realization: I’d been surrounding myself with the wrong kind of support.
Sure, my mom would help with things for my kids. But she was never able to be there for me emotionally — and that’s the kind of support I’ve needed most of my life.
I’ve always felt alone in my hardest moments. Even when there were people around, it never felt like anyone really saw me.
And honestly, it didn’t make sense until I got into therapy.
That’s when my therapist helped me understand something I had never been able to admit to myself: The people we assume are our biggest supporters… might not be.
Just because someone is family doesn’t mean they’re capable of giving you the support you need.
Hell, a lot of the time, they give you their brutal opinions under the mask of “love” — but they’re really reacting based on how they feel, not how you feel.
That’s why I created this space.
For women like me who’ve been left to untangle it all on their own while still showing up for everyone else —Even when that means putting on a fake smile and trying to be the best mom you can be… while quietly falling apart inside.
If you’re healing through the hard stuff, learning to parent yourself, or just trying to figure out what loving support actually looks like…You belong here.
